Earth Hour at Murdoch University Date: 28th March 2014 Time: 12:00 PM - 13:00 PM Location: Murdoch University campuses You are asked to turn off all lights and unnecessary appliances on campus for one hour on Friday 28 March in support of the global Earth Hour event. Public security lighting will remain on, but other lights and unnecessary appliances can be switched off (e.g. computers, screens, printers, microwaves, urns, white boards). Remember to switch off at the wall switch or plug. Earth Hour will take place around the world on Saturday 29 March to take action on climate change. Murdoch University is supporting this important initiative, by asking all staff and students to turn off lights and appliances for one hour on Friday 28 March, from 12noon-1pm. Friendly Earth Hour auditors will be visiting campus buildings and offices, looking for participating staff and students. This initiative serves to remind us all of the positive difference individuals can make in reducing energy use, reducing carbon emissions and reducing costs, which should extend beyond the Earth Hour into our normal daily behaviour. You’re also encouraged to turn off during the global Earth Hour on Saturday 29 March and continue to make a difference every day by always turning off lights and appliances at the wall.
