Desal Discovery Centre Open Day

The Desal Discovery Centre at the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination Australia at Murdoch University's Rockingham campus is holding an Open Day on Saturday 9 March 2013 from 12 noon - 3.00pm

Visit Perth’s newest water science attraction, the Desal Discovery Centre. Watch the 3D movie ‘Crystal Clear’ showing the inner workings of Perth’s desal plants and animations showing how fresh drinking water can be removed from salty water. Take part in some fun water science experiments in the Edulab, see solar desalination at work harnessing the power of the sun, and an emergency aid water tower – the SkyHydrant, used in Third World countries - that turns contaminated water into safe, clean supplies.

This will be a fun learning experience for the whole family (sausage sizzle, fun games and a Taste Test challenge) and a chance for curious, enquiring minds to learn about one of Perth’s only climate independent water source.
