Lunch Time Seminar with Mr Allan Moolman- Oxfam Director South Africa Date: 16th May 2014 Time: 12:30 PM - 13:30 PM Location: South Street Campus Sir Walter Murdoch School of Public Policy and International Affairs invites you to a talk with Mr Allan Moolman: HIV and Food Security: Oxfam’s South African Program. Mr Allan Moolman is responsible for the overall delivery of the Oxfam program in South Africa. This includes the program elements delivered by Oxfam’s Australia, Great Britain and Italia. The current program in South Africa support nearly 70 indigenous civil society organisations who deliver a range of community focussed programs in the thematic areas: HIV and AIDS, food security and livelihoods, climate justice, gender, tax reform for essential services provision, global engagement (BRICSAM), WASH, social protection and active citizenship. Using the experience of the Oxfam program in South Africa the talk will focus on emerging lessons that are informing development practice in the field. Specifically, the idea that in order to deliver effective, contextually appropriate development programs, civil society organisations are going to have to re-gear and reshape themselves to be more practice oriented than thematic in their approach.
