2014 Dieback Information Group Conference at Murdoch University

The 13th annual Dieback Information Group (DIG) Conference will be held on Friday 18th of July at Murdoch University in the Kim Beazley Lecture Theatre. The DIG conference is an excellent opportunity for Murdoch University staff and students to come together with the wider community of people dealing with Phytophthora Dieback (a key threatening process to Australia's native species and ecological communities), and share the latest science and management tools in the fight against this disea

The 13th annual Dieback Information Group Conference will be held on Friday 18th of July at Murdoch University in the Kim Beazley Lecture Theatre. The DIG conference is an excellent opportunity for people from a wide range of sectors working with Phytophthora Dieback (a key threatening process to Australia's native species and ecological communities) to come together and share new science and management tools and experiences in the fight against the spread and impact of this devastating plant disease. Murdoch University Staff are strongly encouraged to attend this event to learn about the latest research and management and how to incorporate these Phytophthora Dieback management practices into their teaching and research activities. The conference is also a vital opportunity for Environmental and Biological studies students to learn the latest Phytophthora Dieback research and management but also as a means of networking with potentail employers.

 The annual DIG conference is vital communication tool in the fight against Phytophthora Dieback and it attended each year by around 200 people from universities, government and non-government agencies, consultancies, mining companies, forestry organisations, landcare groups, NRM organisations and many others.

 

The conference commences at 8;30am (tea and coffee from 8:00am) and finishes up at 4:30pm. All participants are welcome to join us at the Murdoch University tavern after the conference to continue the networking and ideas sharing. Tickets are $150 full price or $100 concession and include morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Visit www.dwg.org.au to register and for more information.
