Occupational Health and Safety: 4WD course

Location: South Street Campus

This is a two day course for staff and students that are required to drive a vehicle off road for their research or studies.

The course is open to University staff, honors and postgraduate students.

This consists of some basic theory (such as videos, vehicle maintenance, equipment use, etc) on the 1st morning and in the afternoon the sand driving exercise at Tims Thicket.  On the 2nd day, heading out east of Sawyers Valley for the whole day.  Depending on numbers and demonstrators there may be an additional vehicle for this day.
 
This course is recommended for any one going of a gazetted road (i.e. tracks, beach work, etc), but is also highly recommended for boat recoveries (causes less damage to the vehicle, burnt out clutches, etc ).
 
If you are keen to do this course for your safety whilst studying at Murdoch University, you'll need your supervisors authority, then please register your interest?

Number individuals needed for course to run: 6 - 14. Please note there is a charge for the course to cover vehicle use.
