ALLY Workshop

Date: 03rd October 2014
Time: 09:00 AM - 13:00 PM

Location: Library 4.040NW South Street Campus

Murdoch’s Equity and Social Inclusion office is now offering a newly revised ALLY workshop.

Gender Identity and Sexuality are fluid concepts, many with rich histories that have influenced a new wave of changing identities to emerge. Many staff and students at Murdoch University are embracing a wider spectrum of gender and sexual identities.

The ALLY Workshop is designed to update your knowledge of the wider-LGBTIQ community and help to contribute to building an affirming and welcoming community at Murdoch University.

The workshop includes a panel of speakers, multi-media presentations and new content with a focus on understanding gender and sexual diversity. The workshop also looks at the external and internal struggles that people from these communities face.

The ALLY Program has been identified as a successful strategy in providing information to staff and students on issues related to sexuality and gender identity, reducing homophobia across campuses, as well as providing a forum for increasing awareness of cultural diversity and difference.

Join a growing number of staff and students, who are becoming ALLYs and increasing acceptance in and out of Murdoch's campuses.
