We encourage Murdoch staff to join The Murdoch Careers and Employment Centre in promoting student engagement in the following career events, aimed at enhancing future employability and improved graduate outcomes for the university.
Please join The Careers and Employment Centre in promoting the following two important career events to the student population.
1) THE BIG MEET Careers Expo (March 6)
The Big Meet is a national careers expo presented by the Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) and an important calendar event for all students, from first through to final year.
This year more than 50 organisations will be represented, promoting a range of options including; graduate programs, student internships / vacation work, post graduate studies, overseas volunteer opportunities and more.
The event kicks off the recruitment season for opportunities next year (students need to start getting ready early!) It is a great opportunity for students to network and find out exactly what employers are looking for.
Expo Details:
When: Friday 6 March, from 12 noon – 4:00 pm
Where: Perth Convention Exhibition Centre, (near the Esplanade train station, Perth)
Cost: Free entry for university students.
Students pre-register on-line: www.thebigmeet.com.au
2) CAREERS WEEK on Murdoch Campus (March 9 – 13)
Presented by the Murdoch Careers and Employment Centre. There is something for ALL students during Careers Week. They can book into various activites and take advantage of a complete job search make-over in just one week.

On Wednesday we are promoting engagement in professional organisations through a Professional Associations networking event and lunch-time Sausage Sizzle. Students can chat to representatives from: Aust. Computer Society Foundation, African Professionals Assoc., Aust. Marketing Institute, Aust. Psychology Society, Engineers Aust., Institute of Chartered Accountants, Law Society of WA, Public Relations Institute of Aust., Professionals Aust. (previously APESMA), The Public Health Assoc., Young Professionals (in Business) and Royal Australian Chemical Institute.
