Call for Nominations - President of Academic Council

Nominations are invited for the position of President Academic Council, the University's principal academic decision making body. The term for this position commences at the completion of this election process and expires on 31 December 2017.

Membership of Academic Council involves attending 8 meetings a year, preparation for these meetings, and membership of at least one Academic Council standing committee. Academic Council meetings are held on a Wednesday afternoon, commencing at 1.30pm. To be eligible to nominate, you must be a full-time academic staff member of the University of the rank of Associate Professor or above (Level D or E). You can nominate yourself. However, if you are nominating someone else, you must include their consent with the nomination. There is no nomination form, and no need for a nominator or seconder.

If you are nominating, please supply a digital photograph and a biography or election statement of no more than 400 words. These will be included in an information sheet provided to voters. Ideally, you should provide these documents at the time of nominating. Please email these documents to Lynette Darnell at l.darnell@murdoch.edu.au.

Nominations will close at 4.00pm Tuesday 24 March 2015. Statements and photos must be submitted by this date.

The following dates will apply to the conduct of the election:

Tuesday 24 March 2015:    Nominations close at 4.00pm

Tuesday 31 March 2015:  Voting will commence at 2.00pm amongst the members of Academic Council only

Tuesday 14 April 2015:    Voting closes at 2.00pm

Please note that only members of Academic Council are eligible to vote in this election.
