Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) 2015

posted 10 March 2015 | Staff Announcement - (staff)

This strategic funding pool has been established to provide further opportunity for strategic development. First round call for applications by 31 March 2015

This non-recurrent funding is available to assist with initiatives and objectives identified in the University's Strategic Plan. It is available to bring to life to ideas and potential projects that will forefront strategies for helping to secure the University’s future.

Applications for funding must be for more $100,000 and will be considered for projects that are highly strategic in nature.

Projects of a collaborative nature, across Schools and Directorates will be viewed favourably, along with any co-funding opportunities.

An assessment matrix is provided for applicants to make a strategic appraisal of their project and ensure it has a strong alignment to strategy. This matrix will also be used to provide a basic initial measure for committee assessment.

This fund is for projects that are operational in nature and it is not for capital (infrastructure or equipment).  However projects that have a capital component need only one business case  - with those constituents potentially funded via the Capital Investment Plan.

Applications for the first round of funding in 2015 are now open until the end of March.

Background, Application Form and Assessment Matrix are available from the Offices of School Deans and Directors.
