Vice Chancellor’s Citations for Excellence in Enhancing Learning 2015

I am delighted to announce the Vice Chancellor’s Citations for Excellence in Enhancing Learning have now been awarded to exemplary Murdoch University staff.
These citations are designed to recognise the many and varied contributions that combine to create effective learning environments at Murdoch.
Recipients will be awarded $2000 to advance their contribution to learning and teaching at Murdoch.
The following recipients are to be commended for their outstanding contribution to learning and teaching:
Dr Andrew Currie - School of Veterinary and Life Sciences
For making immunology seem simple, interesting and enjoyable by creating effective approaches to learning that engage student enthusiasm, confidence and critical thinking.
Dr Doug Fletcher - School of Engineering and Information Technology
For leading continual development of learning experiences and teaching skills in a large service unit through integrated content, active learning and pastoral care.
Dr Susan Ledger - School of Education
For leading, conceptualising and implementing sustainable 12 month teaching internship programs in diverse settings that improve the capacity of graduates transitioning into the profession.
Associate Professor Tanya McGill - School of Engineering and Information Technology
For sustained commitment to undertaking and publishing research on information technology related learning and teaching.
Dr Deborah Pino-Pasternak - School of Education
For developing a pedagogy that fosters student self-determination, addressing the needs of autonomy, belonging and mastery.
Dr Karin Strehlow and Team - Centre for University Teaching and Learning/Kulbardi
For increasing the participation of Indigenous students in higher education.
Congratulations to all these colleagues for their excellent contributions to learning and teaching at Murdoch and a sincere thank you for their contributions to student learning at Murdoch.
