Murdoch Leadership Alumni Network Awards are available for graduates of the Organisational Capability Unit [OCU] leadership programs: 'Murdoch Leadership & Me', 'Stepping up to the T' and 'Transitions: A Leadership Program for Executive Managers'.
The OCU is excited to announce winners of the 2015 Murdoch Leadership Alumni Network Awards.
2015 Award Recipients:
• Dr. Susan Murray [‘Murdoch Leadership & Me’ graduate: winner of The Frontline Manager Program-Intensive]
• Dr. Cristy Secombe [‘Stepping up to the T’ graduate: winner of the Emerging Leaders Program]
• Martin Gwyn-Fawke [‘Transitions: A Leadership Program for Senior Executives’ graduate: winner of the Authentic Leadership Essentials]
Dr. Susan Murray is a Clinical psychologist and the Team Leader of Murdoch University Health: Counselling Service. Most recently, Susan has been part of the Murdoch community for two and a half years. Susan was employed previously in Social Inquiry in Psychology in the 1980s. ‘Murdoch Leadership & Me’ has enabled Susan to develop alternative strategies in undertaking team development and to bring about change at a service level. Participation in the program provided Susan the opportunity to crystalize her role as a clinical psychologist who is a leader, rather than only working as a one-on-one psychologist.
Dr. Cristy Secombe is a Senior Lecturer and Registered Specialist in Equine Medicine and has been part of the Murdoch community for fourteen years. ‘Stepping up to the T’ has provided Cristy with a greater holistic appreciation of the relationship between leadership, strategy, influence and developing the processes to convert an idea into actionable outcomes. This program also enabled Cristy to gain skills in leadership communication to achieve engagement and buy-in from stakeholders.
Martin Gwyn-Fawke is the Open Universities Australia Support Manager in the Academic Registrar’s Office and has been part of the Murdoch community for nine years. Transitions: A Leadership Program for Senior Executives has provided Martin with broadened perspectives and strategic communication skills in influencing stakeholders often when in a position of informal authority, together with enabling growth in his knowledge of change management and change communication theory.
