Murdoch University Health: Medical. Supporting your immunisation needs.
We're well in the midst of flu season, for those of you who haven't already had your annual influenza vaccine, don't delay, book an appointment today or simply walk in and wait.
There are many different types of flu viruses and the flu vaccine is designed to protect against the main strains of flu that research inidcates will cause the most illness during the flu season.
Protection against the seasonal flu develops about two weeks after the injection and lasts for up to one year.
For staff/students who are intending to travel in July, do check-in with your on campus medical team for any additional travel vaccinations you may require pre-departure. We have a good availability of vaccines and are very handy at giving health tips for overseas travellers to all destinations.
For Veterinary staff and students specifically, the Medical Service is running an additional Q fever clinic on 29 June, with a follow up appointment on 6 July. If you would like to register for this please contact the clinic to make a booking. Alternatively if this date is not suitable please do register your interest with the service and we will contact you with future clinic dates.
All appointments can be made by calling our friendly administration team on 9360 2293 during normal business hours, or by walking into the Service.
Murdoch University Health Medical Service is located in building 418, underneath the Tavern.
