Recycling Toner and Printer Cartridges – Free Service
posted 25 August 2015 | Staff Announcement - (staff)
All printer consumables can be recycled for free by registering your printer or Multi-function Device (MFD) with the Ricoh Consumables Recycling Programme. Ricoh provides this service regardless of the brand of printer or MFD.
The Property, Development and Commercial Services Office seeks the support of all Schools and Offices to establish a toner recycling program for their area and support the University’s commitment to sustainability.
Please do not put toner cartridges into yellow-topped recycling bins or green topped waste bins. This minimises occupational safety hazards for the University’s cleaners.
Please nominate a key contact within your School or Directorate and register for the Ricoh toner recycling programme to ensure maximum recovery of recyclable material.
Toner cartridges can be recycled into new goods, or refurbished, refilled and sold as reconditioned cartridges. Recycling them keeps toxic waste out of our landfills and reduces demand for the raw materials to make new cartridges.
Sign up to register your local MFD or copier/printer on Ricoh’s website: http://www.ricoh.com.au/services-solutions/environmental/consumables-recycling-program
For more information contact your School or Office’s RE* Team member, or the Sustainability Manager, Leak Knapp, on sustainability@murdoch.edu.au or 9360 6361.
