A new Student Hub for Bush Court. Have your say!
posted 15 September 2015 | Staff Announcement - (staff)
The University has recently approved funding to complete a detailed design feasibility study to investigate the creation of a new student hub.
The new hub would incorporate the student refectory and adjoining accommodation.
We would like to hear your ideas about the types of social learning spaces, food and beverage outlets and common facilities that should be part of the student hub.
This initiative forms part of our commitment to invest more than $120 million over the next four years on our physical environment, information technology and equipment.
The Property, Development and Commercial Services Office (PDCSO) will deliver this project and staff feedback is essential to the project’s success. Architect firm Hames Sharley has been appointed to deliver a concept design and specification to inform a full business case for approval by the University Senate in 2016. Following approval, construction would start in July 2016 with the new hub open to students in 2017.
Staff are invited to visit the Hames Sharley team from Monday, 14 September until Friday, 18 September at the former Bankwest unit on Bush Court. The designers are very keen to connect with staff and students to understand what sort of amenity and facilities you would like to see in the new hub.
If you have a great idea about the types of social learning spaces, food and beverage outlets and common facilities that should be delivered, or if you would just like to find out more about the project, you can:
