Biography: Prof. Gilbert is an internationally recognised expert in evolutionary (palaeo)biology, and pioneer in the analysis of biomolecules from degraded samples. He was the youngest ever full professor at the University of Copenhagen and iscurrently the first chaired Professor of Palaeogenomics at the Natural History Museum of Denmark. Gilbert’s research interests span the development of new techniques, including the application of state of the art sequencing, as well as the analysis of recovered biomolecules in evolutionary, conservation and archaeological contexts. Since 2003 he has published ~144 research papers - 23 of these publications appear in Nature and Science. Contact: Michael Bunce Email: m.bunce@murdoch.edu.au Phone: x7649
