Library Review is coming

A review will be undertaken of the University Library in September.
The last review was conducted in 2011 and the Library determined it would be beneficial to undertake another one given the time that has elapsed.
The Terms of Reference for the Library Review are as follows:
- To conduct an analysis of how the Library contributes to the strategic goals of the University, with reference to the following:
i. University Strategic Plan 2012-2017
ii. Learning and Teaching Strategy 2015-2020
iii. Research Strategy 2015-2020; - To examine the current performance of the Library’s strategies as outlined in the current Operational Plan considering the appropriateness of the Plan to support the University aims of:
i. enhancing its reputation as an internationally recognised research led institution
ii. providing flexible, student centred, high quality teaching
iii. broadening its community engagement; - To review the Library’s organisational structure and governance processes, with reference to staff composition, capability and disposition, to ensure optimal deployment of current staff resources;
- To review the efficiency and effectiveness of the Library’s IT infrastructure to meet current and emerging needs;
- To review the funding mechanism for the Library’s collection budget, its adequacy, and the Library’s ability to respond to new areas of teaching and research.
There will be a Review Panel made up of the following:
- Ms Margie Jantti, Director, Library Services, University of Wollongong (Chair)
- Ms Maureen Sullivan, Director, Information Management, Griffith University
- Professor Helena Grehan, Associate Dean, Research, School of Arts
- Dr Ken Young, Associate Dean, Learning & Teaching, School of Health Professions
