Construction of dual use pathway - corner of South Street & Murdoch Drive
posted 25 October 2016 | Staff Announcement (staff)
Murdoch University is carrying out essential work replacing the existing footpath at the corner of South Street and Murdoch Drive which leads to car park one.
The works will involve widening the footpath to accommodate dual usage for pedestrians and cyclists, along with the installation of energy efficient LED lighting to further ensure safe and secure travel along this path.
The existing footpath will be demolished and sent for recycling, and the new footpath will also utilise recycled material in its construction, in line with the University’s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint.
Duration of Works
The works commenced this week and will take approximately three weeks to complete.
The pathway will not be available for use during this time, and alternate routes should be taken either along South Street or Murdoch Drive.
PDCSO would like to apologise for any inconvenience these works may cause to pedestrians and cyclists and thank them for their understanding while the path is under construction.
Access to fenced off areas will be strictly prohibited
During the works, the construction area will be fenced off and will be appropriately signed and secured when not being attended. There will be no entry to any unauthorised persons. Please respect this and notify the FM helpdesk should any breaches in fence lines be noted.
