Murdoch University values and respects the social, cultural and linguistic diversity of its community, and encourages inclusive practices in order to provide an environment that is creative, innovative, flexible and productive.
The Cultural Diversity and Inclusive Practice Toolkit (CDIP) is a resource designed to assist all members of the University community to promote mutually respectful relationships and translate the University’s policies and intentions into practice.
The toolkit consists of the following:
- General Information (this section includes information on Indigenous Terms and Protocols)
- Leadership and Administration (this section includes information on Indigenous naming systems)
- Religious Identities
- Research
- Teaching and Learning
- University Community
The CDIP is one of the resources that can be used to provide guidance to the University in its engagement, relationships and responsiveness with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. Establishing cultural protocols and codes of conduct, relating to this area, is encouraged by the University’s Reconciliation Action Plan 2015 – 2018.
