Microsoft Office 365 is coming
posted 08 November 2016 | Staff Announcement (staff)
Murdoch University will be migrating all staff to Microsoft Office 365 between February and April 2017.
This will bring numerous benefits, including:
Mailbox limits will be increased substantially from 3GB to 50GB with no limit on archived mail. All historical mail archives will be migrated when you move to Office365 giving you access to all your emails from a single location.
You will get the latest version of Office comprising Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. You will also be allowed to install additional copies of Office365 at no extra cost at home on up to four desktop/laptop devices, five tablets and five phones.
You will get a 1TB online personal storage drive to hold documents and information which can be accessed from any location. Collaboration with colleagues and students will be made easier with the OneNote and SharePoint tools.
Finally, Microsoft’s Skype for Business will be provided to staff to allow communication with individuals or groups from your desk or meeting rooms.
ITS will be working closely with each School and Department to agree a timeframe to migrate the service, as well as advise on training modules and further support.
Further information on the software upgrade and migration can be obtained by emailing Office365Enquiries@murdoch.edu.au
