VC’s Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning
posted 10 July 2017 | Staff Announcement (staff)
It is with great pleasure that I announce the recipient of the VC’s Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning for 2017: the K-Track Indigenous Enabling Program by Mr Braden Hill, Dr Karin Strehlow, Dr Rebecca Bennett and Ms Sian Bennett.
The Vice Chancellor’s Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning are new in 2017. This award recognised learning and teaching programs that demonstrate sustained effectiveness in enhancing student learning. The successful program must be distinctive, influence student learning and the student experience, show breath of impact, and address equity and diversity. The recipients of the Program Award receive $5,000 to further enhance student learning.
K-Track is an innovative pre-university course that provides Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with the skills, knowledge and confidence to access and successfully engage with higher education. The program is situated in the Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre and was designed to address low pass and transition rates in the ATSI enabling space.
This is a wonderful and well deserved recognition of the outstanding work of the K-Track Team. Congratulations and a sincere thank you for your contribution to student learning at Murdoch.
