Murdoch takes new direction in philanthropy

posted 22 January 2018 | Staff Announcement (staff)

Robin Sharp has joined Murdoch University as the new Director of Advancement.

Bringing many years of international experience in the higher education sector, Robin will lead alumni and development to build our international standing through alumni engagement and philanthropic investment.

Robin began her role earlier in January, and is very excited about the role.

“This is an unparalleled opportunity to shape a program of global philanthropic investment that secures one of the world’s most international universities,” she said.

Since moving to the United Kingdom in 2003 from the United States, Robin has gained experience working across schools, faculties, varied disciplines and cultures at research-led universities.

In recent years she has worked with the Queen Mary University of London, the University of Southampton and at Colleges at both the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge.

Murdoch University Provost Professor Andrew Taggart said that Robin would be a fantastic asset for Murdoch University.

“As Murdoch moves, with great excitement, to its 50th anniversary it will be wonderful to welcome Robin and to take her lead during a sustained period of great engagement with alumni and donors in WA, Australia, Singapore and Dubai,” he said.

“Robin will be a wonderful asset for Murdoch to both lead the Advancement team and to continue to build our international standing through outreach and philanthropy.”
