PhD internships recognise equity and diversity in STEM

APR.Intern is driving innovation and accelerating women in STEM through short-term 3-5 month PhD industry internships. A new Australian Government rebate is now available to all Australian businesses through the program.

APR.Intern is a not-for-profit program driving innovation through industry and university research collaborations. The program works at the nexus between industry and academia, connecting PhD students, and their academic mentors, with industry partners through 3-5 month, tightly focused research projects. Government rebates of 50% (or up to $13k) are available to all small-to-medium and large enterprises, and government agencies, in all industry sectors.

Every PhD internship is supported by an academic mentor from the university, who provides academic guidance to the intern and the project. Through these internship, APR.Intern aims to support industry-based training of PhD research students, giving them the opportunity to apply their research skills in an industry setting.

The program is focused on gender equity, prioritising the placement of women, domestic citizens, regional, Indigenous and disadvantaged PhD students into STEM internships.
