Sound On festival

Presented by Murdoch University

Alison Wonderland square

The stage is set at Perth Arena for Murdoch University’s first Sound On Festival for 14 to 18 year old high school students on Friday 28 September running from 3pm-9.30pm.

WA’s only underage festival will feature some of Australia’s brightest game-changers, thinkers and artists and encourage free thinking, which has been synonymous with Murdoch since the 1970s.

Headlining the festival is Australian electronic musician Alison Wonderland, who made history this year as the highest billed female DJ to ever perform at Coachella – one of the largest, most famous and most profitable music festivals in the US which has been running since 1999.

Other artists on the line-up include Cosmo’s Midnight, Tkay Maidza, Channel Nine’s The Voice winner Sam Perry and Murdoch alumnus DJ Shann.

With a focus on psychology and mindfulness, the festival will feature inspirational talks by Sydney’s The Indigo Project, who will also host an intimate panel chat with the artists themselves. High schoolers will have the opportunity to get to discover strategies for dealing with life, exams and everything in between.

Beyond the main stage, there will be a variety of activations throughout the day, including: a games lounge; an experiential photo booth; communal art and a hip chill out space; a glitter bar; plus Murdoch’s famous interactive quiz cube WALTER will be giving away festival merchandise.

Parents will have access to a lounge area outside the Perth Arena with Murdoch staff on hand to provide them with important health and wellness tips for themselves and their teenagers.

Sound On Festival is a one-stop shop for teenagers to explore their future career aspirations during school holidays.

Tickets for this alcohol-free event can be purchased online at Ticketek for $39.95.
