Rise in research ranking Murdoch University has had a pleasing result in the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) for 2018. ARWU is recognised as the world’s premier research related ranking, assessing the caliber of the world’s top universities. Six objective indicators are used in the rankings, including the number of alumni and staff winning Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals, the number of Highly Cited Researchers, the number of articles published in journals of Nature and Science, the number of articles indexed in Science Citation Index - Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index, and per capita performance.
