Scientists invited to attend bioinformatics symposium

Current research and developments in bioinformatics will be shared at the AMSI (Australian Mathematical Sciences Institute) BioInfoSummer event at the University of Western Australia from 3-7 December.

Organised by Dr Nicola Armstrong from the School of Engineering and Information Technology, the symposium will introduce bioinformatics and mathematical and computational biology to students, researchers and professionals working across a range of disciplines.

It will feature hands on introductory sessions on bioinformatics, as well as specialist lectures from international speakers and Australia’s top scientists and academics in the field. Wildlife forensic scientist Dr Rebecca Johnson from the Australian Museum will also deliver a public lecture on the koala genome.

Attendees will also have the chance to network and engage with a panel of academics and professionals on bioinformatics careers.

Early bird registrations are available until 1 October.

More information and registrations are available from the symposium website.
