Applications for FameLab 2019 are open Passionate STEM researchers with a flair for public engagement can apply to compete in the WA heat of the international science communication competition, FameLab. Since coming to Australia in 2014, more than 200 early career researchers have benefitted from FameLab’s expert science communication training and presented their work on stage, entertaining thousands with their fascinating stories of science. If successful, applicants will present their research in just three minutes with a few props at the WA Maritime Museum, Fremantle on 17 April. The national final will be held on 8 May at the State Theatre Centre, Perth. The overall winner of FameLab Australia gets $1,000 and a trip to the UK to represent Australia at the FameLab International finals. The competition was created by Cheltenham Festivals and is co-produced by the British Council.
