IGA and Burger Edge to open at Student Hub The Student Hub will soon have a full set of food and retail units open for business. The Student Hub will soon have a full set of food and retail units open for business. Providing a selection of delicious gourmet burgers, tasty wraps and healthy salads, Burger Edge is due to open this week, before the beginning of semester one. The University has worked closely with the Burger Edge team to deliver a menu that includes a Murdoch-exclusive $4.95 burger. The State’s first University-based convenience IGA store will open around week four of semester one, towards the start of April. The store will be located within the Student Hub building accessed through the Summer Courtyard. As well as all the usual groceries and basics, the Murdoch Uni IGA X-press will also offer rotisserie chicken, hot deli snacks, pre-prepared sandwiches and a range of fresh fruit and vegetables. Once opened, you’ll never be caught without biscuits for morning tea, fresh fruit snacks for lunch, a loaf of bread or a bottle of milk on the way home ever again! The arrival of the IGA X-press and Burger Edge virtually completes the food and retail picture for the Student Hub, which has been five years in the making for Richard Kendall and the whole team from the Property, Development and Commercial Services Office. “The Student Hub redevelopment has completely changed the options available to the University community. The feedback we’ve had from students and staff about the Student Hub has been overwhelmingly positive,” Richard said. “We are delighted to welcome IGA X-press and Burger Edge onto campus, to complete the original Student Hub vision. Alongside our other food outlets in the Student Hub and the wider campus, these new additions will provide students, staff and visitors with a broader range of food options. We’re very proud of the Student Hub and grateful to everyone who has worked so hard to make it a reality.”
