Safety app to give international students peace of mind

International students will be able to access immediate help across the country from emergency-trained personnel from mid-February using direct mobile application communications. Sonder Australia’s trained multilingual personnel can provide 24/7 assistance through a live chat, phone call or in-person liaison officers on the ground.

Murdoch will be the second University in Australia, and first in WA, to introduce the Sonder Australia 24/7 off-campus safety and wellbeing support service for international students. When required, Sonder can also work with Murdoch to provide further wellbeing support in accordance with agreed University incident management protocols.  

The Sonder service will be available at no extra cost for approximately 1100 new international students who commenced from 1^st June 2018 with Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) through Allianz Global Assistance, Murdoch’s preferred OSHC provider.
