Wear-it Red for O-Week is back again

Murdoch staff are once again being asked to wear their Murdoch-branded polo shirts and being on hand to assist new students from 18-22 February.

Dear Colleagues,

It’s very exciting to see new students starting to arrive on campus and this will only increase as we get closer to Orientation Week.

It is important that our new students have a positive experience when they start their Murdoch journey, and each year, Orientation Week represents a critical moment where we want to give them the best introduction to Murdoch possible.

Those who have experienced university orientation week in the past, know it can be one of the most highly-anticipated, important, and overwhelming days of the year for a new student. Our students are at the core of why our university exists, therefore, it is important for everyone who works at Murdoch to help them feel welcome when they arrive on campus for the first time.

As such, we are once again requesting that all Murdoch staff ‘wear-it-red’ by putting on their Murdoch-branded polo shirts and being on hand to assist new students from 18-22 February.

‘Wearing-it-red’ will ensure that staff are easily identified by students that need to ask for directions or for answers to other general questions about finding the services they need.

Being on hand to help students with their queries during orientation week gives us an opportunity to make a positive first impression and make the world of difference to how they feel about coming here to study.

Your involvement in helping our students feel more comfortable, confident and enthusiastic about having a successful future at Murdoch University during O-week will make all the difference.

Staff who don’t have Murdoch-branded polo shirts can collect them at ECL3 (460.3.030) tomorrow - Wednesday 13 February between 9am and 12pm.
