MyMurdoch ADVICE Services and at risk reporting processes for Semester One The MyMurdoch ADVICE locations have been established to help Murdoch staff provide a collaborative learning and pastoral support model that lessens the need for students to attend multiple service points to resolve a single issue. At each MyMurdoch ADVICE location the staff, consisting of members of the Student Success team (formerly Student Advisers) and Peer Academic Coaches (PACs), are ready to guide all students on issues related to their study, their well-being and getting the most out of university. There are specialist staff on hand to respond to more complex international student inquiries. The Student Success team will continue to offer routine course advice and refer students to Academic Chairs for more complex academic advising. They will continue to undertake follow up on ‘at risk’ students reported through either the Student Advisor reports that you can lodge or in response to automated reporting. You will notice some changes to the Student Advisor Report web form available via your “MyStudents” page, including a streamlining of categories under which you can report “at risk” students. This is a temporary measure as we work through the staffing transition period into the MyMurdoch ADVICE locations. The automated ‘student progression’ reports will run as normal and students who have been identified by these indicators as potentially needing support from the university will be contacted by a member of the Student Success team. We appreciate your patience and feedback as we get the MyMurdoch ADVICE locations and services up and running and thank you for supporting the Student Success team. Please contact Amy Cleasby (Manager, Student Success) with queries. Kind regards, Prof Kylie Readman (Pro Vice Chancellor Education)
