Think Enhancement @ Murdoch Program (TE@M)

Dear Colleagues,

We are launching Think Enhancement @ Murdoch Program (TE@M) to foster our shared culture of enhancement taking us to 2027 and beyond.

Murdoch University’s Strategic Plan and Future Horizon 2017-2027 identifies continuous improvement as a core value in the fulfilment of our aspirations for excellence and future focus.  These values are woven throughout our strategic plan: underpinning our goals; finding expression in all four pillars; and given focus through our three strategic lenses.  Enacting such a value calls for a whole of University response with a shared perspective on our roles, accountabilities and responsibilities for enhancing practice.

It is my pleasure to formally launch the Think Enhancement @ Murdoch Program (TE@M) which will drive the adoption of an enhancement culture through the implementation of an Educational Continuous Improvement Framework whilst also preparing for our provider re-registration for Murdoch through the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).  So far the program team operating out of the Office of Quality, Curriculum Management and Policy, have been busy with planning for the program as well as conducting a detailed desktop assessment of our policy, procedural and institutional data against the Higher Education Standards.  The next step is to extend the program across the University and build a shared understanding of our collective and individual roles and responsibilities for enhancing practice at Murdoch.

The program aims to foster a culture of enhancement taking us to 2027 and beyond. To this end, by October 2020 the program will

  • put in place a continuous improvement framework that deliberately monitors the university’s HES profile, providing guidance to navigate quality enhancement activities through policy, procedural and systematic change;
  • in so doing build an awareness of responsibility for supporting HES compliance whilst seeking excellence in all that we do;
  • obtain provider re-registration for Murdoch University through TEQSA.

The program is about to begin a series of activities to benchmark our education performance against Higher Education Standards, and look for areas of enhancement. To do this, members of TE@M will engage with the Murdoch University community. I call on you not only to participate in these activities, but to take the lead in enhancing practice at Murdoch.

If you have any questions please feel free to email the TE@M Program enhancement@murdoch.edu.au

Regards,

Romy
