Charity seeking professional clothing donations to help women obtain economic independence Local charity organisation, Dress for Success Perth is calling on Murdoch staff to consider donating any gently used, nearly-new professional female attire no longer in use. The organisation supports women to enter or return to the workplace. All donations accepted by the Careers and Employability team (level 3 in the Library near The Launchpad) up until Tuesday 26 March. There is a donation box in the Careers and Employability office. The Careers and Employability team jointly with Access Programs staff will be volunteering their time to deliver a half day program on “Managing your Career in a Changing World – creating opportunity through networks and education” at Dress for Success Perth on Wednesday 27 March at their Subiaco premises. Dress for Success Perth is a not-for-profit organisation and part of a global network that aims to empower women to obtain economic independence through gainful employment. They provide: Work appropriate clothing Job support assistance / mentoring Career workshops Dress for Success Perth is also calling on Murdoch staff to consider donating any gently used, nearly-new professional female attire. Professional apparel (including handbags and shoes) could furnish another woman with the confidence to enter or return to the workplace and find a job that could change her life. Dress for Success Perth request all donated items be washed/ironed or drycleaned and no older than 5 years old – items will be will be delivered on the day of the workshop.
