The Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Excellence in Research 2018

Nominations are open for four Murdoch University research awards, which recognise excellence in research.

The Vice Chancellor's Excellence in Research Award for Early Career Development and Achievement
This award acknowledges early career researchers who have demonstrated a rapidly advancing research career ahead of what would be considered normal for the stage of their career. An early career researcher is defined as one who is either currently within their first eight years of academic or other research related employment, allowing for uninterrupted and stable research development, following completion of postgraduate research training or currently employed at Senior Lecturer level or below. The award winner will receive a medal and $2,500 to support their research endeavours.

The Vice-Chancellor's Excellence in Research Award for Outstanding Research Development
This award targets mid-career researchers. It recognises exceptional research performance and a growing role in research leadership over the previous five to 10 years. The award winner will receive a medal and $2,500 to support their research endeavours.

The Vice-Chancellor's Excellence in Research Award for Impact in Communities
This award will recognise an individual, at any stage of their career, who has demonstrated their capacity to make an impact in communities. The award winner will receive a medal and $2,500 to support their research endeavours.

The Vice-Chancellor's Excellence in Research Award for Distinguished and Sustained Achievement
This is the University's premier award for research. It acknowledges the research achievements of a distinguished researcher who has provided sustained research performance and leadership over the previous 10 to 20 years. The award winner will receive a medal and $5,000 to support their research endeavours.

Nominations must be received by COB Wednesday 8 May 2019 and will be considered by the DVC R&I and a selection panel. Nominations are to be sent by email to Sarah Garbin (Sarah.Garbin@murdoch.edu.au) using the nomination form (obtainable from Sarah).
