Quendas are native marsupials that are classed as 'conservation dependent'. They prefer dense bushes, such as those that line our roads and carparks, and can dart out without warning.
Forest Red Tailed Black Cockatoos are classed as 'threatened' and Carnaby's Black Cockatoos are listed as 'endangered'. They often fly low when taking off after feeding on bushes and trees.
We are incredibly fortunate to have these iconic animal communities on campus and they need you to watch out for them when driving on campus. Sticking to the speed limits is a good start, which are 40kph on Discovery Way and Campus Road South, and 25kph in all car parks.
If you do accidentally hit a native animal, please contact Campus Security immediately on 9360 6262.
