One of the fundamental limitations to nutrition is the inability to understand what people eat in their home environment. There is need for disruptive technology to move the field on.
Professor Gary Frost is currently head of the Section for Nutrition Research and leads the Imperial Nutrition and Food Network.
Gary qualified as a dietitian in 1982 and has always maintained a clinical input throughout his career. He was appointed to Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics at Imperial College in January 2008. Prior to this, Gary worked at Hammersmith Hospital for 18 years.
Over his time at Hammersmith he gained his PhD in Nutrition and was appointed Honorary Reader in Nutrition at Imperial College. He joined the University of Surrey as Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2005.
Gary’s research interests are very diverse and include: Dietary Carbohydrates, Short Chain Fatty Acids, Food Structure, Obesity Management, Dietary Intake and Nutrition in the Elderly.
