The Public Interest Disclosure Act 2003 facilitates the disclosure of public interest information, and provides protection for those making disclosures and those who are the subject of disclosures.
Murdoch’s Public Interest Disclosure Policy (also known as "whistle-blowing" policy) and Public Interest Disclosure Procedure ensures that the University meets its commitments under the PID Act and provides a framework for making disclosures under the Act, ensuring the investigation of such disclosures, and providing protection for persons making disclosures from reprisals.
Disclosures under the PID policy can be made to a Public Interest Disclosure Officer (PID Officer) of the University, or other proper authorities as detailed in the policy. The University’s PID Officers are as follows:
- Mr Sarav Rajagopalan, Director Audit and Risk Management
- Ms Trudi McGlade, University Secretary
