This year, we wanted our campaign to communicate the values and vision of Murdoch University in a way that was truly inspirational to young audiences. ‘This is Free Thinking’ is a powerful way to reinforce Murdoch’s free thinking position, which we have built significant equity in since launching
Free your Think in 2017. Ultimately, we want students to
feel as if Murdoch is “the right university for them”. We’re shifting the focus from simply driving recognition to creating a deep emotional connection to the brand, focusing on our key strengths (our people, our campus, our research and our difference).
This is Free Thinking campaign will explore relevant ways to meet student needs, and most importantly, further evidence how free thinking can be the key to progressing your future. To do this, we’ll bring to life stories of our current students, and our most interesting and engaging alumni from around the world. We believe the alumni that we have chosen work in fields that are inspiring to young students, and offer a learning and career journey that will help to frame what is possible.
The campaign officially launched on Sunday 1 September with a 45” and 30” TV commercial and supporting elements across outdoor signage, radio, digital and print.
We have launched with “Tuesday’s Classroom”; a spectacular image of our students on their annual study field trip to Coral Bay as part of their marine biology program. “Tuesday’s Classroom” represents the unexpected, it evidences the real student experience at Murdoch.
