Did you know that good mental health and wellbeing starts as soon as we’re born? As adults it’s important to understand how we can both support the children in our lives and look after our own inner child to maintain positive health and wellbeing.
This year, the theme for the week is ‘mental health starts with children’.
We have curated a list of events to channel your inner child through fun activities and practice mindfulness in a safe space to encourage good mental health practices.
Get involved in this year’s events to take care of your mental health and learn how to help others!

Courageous Kid Dress Up Day
Express your inner child and celebrate them through fashion by taking part in Murdoch’s Courageous Kids Dress Up Day.
We are talking pyjamas, cartoon characters and school uniforms! The sky is the limit, so get creative.
Think about your favourite movies or books as a kid – it's your chance to become your favourite superhero or Disney character growing up!
Still fit into your old school uniform? Dust if off and don it on campus. Or, if Saturday morning cartoons on the couch in your pyjamas were more your thing, then come to uni in your PJs.
Whatever you choose to wear, your participation will help raise awareness of the importance of children’s mental health. With a gold coin donation to take part, the event will also raise funds for Beyond Blue.
Make sure to drop off your gold coin donation at Wynette Francis at Front Reception (Chancellery),
Sir Walters or Bang Bang cafes on campus.
