The Council for International Students of WA (CISWA) has opened nominations for their annual CISWA Awards, which includes the category award for 2020 WA International Tertiary Student of the Year.

International students and education providers in WA have faced another challenging year. The CISWA Awards 2021 would like to change this by shining a light on and celebrating achievements of inspirational international students in international education over the last 12 months.

The CISWA WA International Tertiary Student of the Year Award is about recognising the significant contribution that international students make to the Western Australian community. CISWA seeks to acknowledge an international student, who has demonstrated academic excellence and has contributed to enhancing the student experience both on and off campus.

Who can apply for the CISWA 2021 WA International Tertiary Student of the Year?

• Any current international students living and studying in Western Australia (nominees must currently hold a student visa and be enrolled in a university course in WA).
• Relatives of current CISWA Executives are not eligible for the award
• Previous year’s unsuccessful nominees may be re-nominated.

* Applicats must provide an academic referee.

Selection Criteria:

• Involvement in activities linking international students with local community
• Involvement in activities promoting interaction between Australian and international students
• Demonstrated academic excellence – at least Credit average
• Voluntary work beyond paid employment

Why would I apply for the CISWA 2021 WA International Tertiary Student of the Year?

This is a chance for exceptional individuals to be recognised and acknowledged for their outstanding contribution and support to the advancement of international education in Western Australia.

In selecting the recipient of this award, the student’s achievements and contributions during their time as an international student in Australia are taken into consideration. Additional weight is given to any activities which promote interaction with Australian students and with the local community.
