Between the first service on Sunday, 26 December 2021 to the last service on Friday, 14 January 2022, the Mandurah Line will shut down between Aubin Grove and Elizabeth Quay Stations. This is part of METRONET’s Thornlie-Cockburn Link Project.
According to Transperth, the Christmas-New Year period is the quietest time for public transport and the Kwinana Freeway (where train replacement bus services will operate).
Train replacement buses will operate between Aubin Grove Station and a temporary bus station at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, known as PCEC.
Train replacement bus services will be scheduled to match the train timetable as closely as possible, however, they may take longer and be affected by traffic.
Express buses to and from PCEC will operate from Aubin Grove, Cockburn Central, Murdoch and Bull Creek stations.
There will also be an All Stops service operating between Aubin Grove and Canning Bridge stations.
From 5 February 2022, you will also need to wear a mask on all public transport in Western Australia.
Please visit the Transperth website for specific information about the Mandurah Line shutdown. There is a list of routes and FAQs to look through for additional information.
