Every year from 1-7 August we celebrate World Breastfeeding Week to educate people about the resources available and everyone’s role to create systemic change.
Breastfeeding is key to sustainable development strategies post-pandemic as it can improve nutrition, ensure food security, and reduce inequalities between and within countries.
The World Health Organisation recommends breast feeding for infants and young children to optimise health benefits and is committed to supporting countries with a comprehensive implementation plan to protect, promote, and support appropriate infant and young child feeding.
At Murdoch, we do our best to support students and staff who also have parenting responsibilities and have a number of parenting facilities available on campus. We're also building a parent room at our brand new teaching and learning facility - Building 360. Whether you need a quiet place to feed your child, somewhere to play with them while you study, or just need to change a dirty nappy, we have you covered!
These facilities are available for free to our Murdoch Community. Learn more on our parenting facilities page, you can also find them on Murdoch map.
