Should you test positive for COVID-19, it is important you let your unit coordinator know as soon as possible. They will work with you to develop an alternate plan to ensure you are able to complete your studies. If you are unable to attend your final assessment, please refer to the advice online about applying to defer.
Appointments at the Medical Service
If you are symptomatic and wish to access the Murdoch University Medical Service, please call +61 8 9360 2293 for telehealth options.
All patients will be screened before they are able to enter the Medical Service. If you require a face-to-face appointment and are experiencing symptoms, you will be required to wear a mask and produce a negative rapid antigen test (RAT) prior to entry. If required, the Medical Service has masks and RATs available for patients.
COVID-19 vaccinations available on campus
The Murdoch University Medical Service continues to provide COVID-19 vaccine boosters. The Pfizer Bivalent BA 4.5 is currently in stock, and the Pfizer XBB.1.5 is expected by mid-December.
You are eligible for a booster if you have not had a vaccine or COVID-19 in the past six months. Appointments can be made online, or by phoning the Medical Service on +61 8 9360 2293.
Preventing the spread of COVID-19
In addition to getting vaccinated, washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or elbow are important steps you can take to prevent the spread of illness. To reduce the risk of infection, social distancing and wearing a mask in densely populated settings and or when visiting vulnerable individuals is encouraged.

Masks required in public hospitals
In response to the increase in community COVID-19 infections, WA Health has issued a directive that all staff, patients, and visitors must wear a mask in high-risk clinical settings. Additionally, surgical masks are recommended for all staff and visitors to public hospital clinic areas.
