The new Master of Food Science will be offered at Murdoch from Semester 2, 2024.

Murdoch Head of School of Medical, Molecular and Forensic Sciences, Wayne Greene, said the new course was developed to address the growing demand for food professionals and give graduates a competitive edge in the workforce. “Making use of the new Murdoch University Food Centre, part of the Food Innovation Precinct of Western Australia (FIPWA), the Master of Food Science has been structured to maximise food industry learning and exposure to industry partners,” he said.

The new postgraduate programs have been carefully designed to build knowledge and skills considered essential by industry. Academic Chair of Food Science and Nutrition, Wendy Hunt, commented “our program and facilities are unique. Together, they enable students to develop professionalism through experiential learning and enhance career opportunities”.
