But that's not all. In addition to our wonderful Den space, we're proud to offer new support groups for both the LGBTQIA+ community and individuals with ADHD. These groups provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can connect with others who understand your experiences.
LGBTQIA+ Support Group:
Would you like to learn some skills to manage stress and improve your relationship with yourself and other people? Come and join us at Murdoch Counselling Service for our LGBTQIA+ Support Group. This is a group designed for Queer-identifying individuals and will focus on hanging out and meeting new people, exploring the unique challenges experienced within the Queer Community and learning skills using techniques from Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help promote positive mental health and wellbeing. It’s important to find your crowd to connect over shared experiences, especially during stressful and anxious periods.
When: Thursdays starting 7 March 2024 from 1.30pm to 3pm for 8 weeks (including non-teaching weeks)
ADHD Support Group:
Do you have symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (Diagnosed or Suspected)? Are you concerned about it impacting your ability to study? As part of the university’s commitment to facilitating accessible learning, the Counselling Service and Access & Inclusion team will be running a 10-week ADHD Support Group that focuses on bringing together students to share skills and strategies for managing their symptoms at university and in day-to-day life.
When: Wednesdays starting 6 March 2024 from 1pm to 3pm for 10 weeks (all teaching weeks through semester starting Week 2)
If you're interested in joining one of our support groups, we encourage you to register now by contacting Counselling Service on 9360 1227 or email counsellingservice@murdoch.edu.au. Take the first step towards prioritising your wellbeing and connecting with a community that cares.
