November officially became Perth’s Pride Month in the years following this landmark human rights reform, and has remained a month to celebrate LGBTIQA+ community, celebrating the work of the past and looking forward to a more inclusive future.
Pride Month is a time of reflection, celebration, and advocacy that serves as a reminder of the progress made and the challenges that remain. By observing and celebrating Pride Month, we honour the diversity of the LGBTIQA+ community and promote a more inclusive society, at Murdoch and beyond, where everyone can live authentically and have pride in their identity

Join us in the Pride Parade | 23 November
Representation and visibility are essential to foster understanding, acceptance, and equality, empower individuals, and challenge stereotypes. So, we are thrilled to yet again be taking part in the Northbridge Pride Parade on Saturday, 23 November – one of the most visible events in the Pride Month calendar!
We are inviting all Murdoch students, staff and alumni to proudly fly their flags as the parade winds its way along Northbridge’s streets. Spaces are limited, so get in quick. Those who attend will receive a Murdoch Pride shirt to wear on the night.
Registrations will be open until Friday, 8 November. More information is provided on the registration form, and an official briefing will happen before the event.
What else is happening on campus?
Additional events will be taking place throughout November on campus, so keep an eye out. We would love to see you drop past the Pride stall at Fair Day on 17 November, enjoy the updated Pride playlist at the All for One Classes run by Murdoch Active, or stop to check out Dylan Mooney’s artwork, Still Thriving, Still Here on the large outdoor screen at the Northern Plaza.
