Murdoch Active’s new Exercise Physiology Clinic is now open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, providing personalised, evidence-based support for students, staff and the wider community.
Led by Accredited Exercise Physiologist Kyriacos Christou, who brings more than 17 years of industry experience, the clinic specialises in supporting individuals living with chronic health conditions including but not limited to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and musculoskeletal concerns, as well as those recovery after injury or surgery.
Affordable access through Medicare and private health rebates
One of the key benefits of the service is its affordability, with many clients eligible for Medicare and private health insurance rebates.
All clients, if eligible, can claim rebates under Medicare and private health insurance, with Medicare covering $63.40 of both initial and subsequent consultation fees, significantly reducing out-of-pocket costs. Many private health funds may also provide rebates depending on your level of cover.
International students are encouraged to visit our team at The Den for a claim assessment. They can help you check your Overseas Health Cover and explain what services may be covered under your policy.
Consultations and pricing
The first consultation is 45 minutes, with subsequent consultations running for 30 minutes. Initial consultations include a clinical assessment which may use advanced equipment such as Vald force plates, reformer Pilates machine and more before working with you to build a tailored exercise program to support your ongoing needs.
