Bouldering: the thrill of rock climbing without a harness.
Murdoch Sports has partnered with Iris Boulders (@irisboulders) to offer Murdoch staff and students discounted entry and equipment hire, with a reduced entry fee of just $18.
Bouldering is rock climbing without the ropes. The walls go up to 4.5m high, challenging a climber’s strength, agility and tenacity. The bouldering experience has been crafted to offer climbers the thrill and sense of achievement that comes from climbing using their own power, with the reassurance of specially designed safety mats to catch you should you fall.
Iris Bouldering is located in Canning Vale and has climbs that cater to all levels, from first timers to the 'Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 2' level climbers in your crew.
Bookings aren’t required and staff are there to guide beginners through their first climb.

Diving: affordable and safe entry to the hidden depths of the W.A. coast.
The Murdoch University Diving Club (@murdochunidivers) offers Murdoch staff and students the opportunity to tick off diving from their bucket list, providing safe and affordable options to explore the hidden wonders off of the W.A. coast.
Membership is $40 for the year or $20 for 6 months, with further discounts available depending on how late you join in the year.
As a MUD member you also get 15% off of the cost of getting your diving ticket with Fremantle-based dive school @bucketlistdiver and access to the cheapest equipment hire in Perth through the club.
A full set of diving gear will only set you back $30 per dive or $5 a piece if you already have some of your own.
The club also regularly organises subsidised group dives for members to experience local sights, such as the HMAS Stirling in Busselton dive happening December 4th-7th this year.
