Dear students,
Please read this message in full. It contains important information relating to Murdoch University’s COVID-19 response.
In accordance with evolving public health guidance and direction, Murdoch University has been reviewing its COVID-19 vaccination policy.
Murdoch University is continuing to adhere to government advice, public health orders and workplace health and safety laws and obligations when developing policies and guidelines. Unless superseded by specific and lawful direction, the University will apply relevant Commonwealth and State government guidance and workplace health and safety laws to all members of the University community.
While COVID-19 vaccinations are not compulsory, Murdoch University encourages all students and staff to get vaccinated as soon as possible:
Health care and aged care workers and student placements
All public health orders relevant to Murdoch University shall be notified to those directly impacted. Currently, COVID-19 vaccination public health directions apply to WA health care and aged care workers, health support staff and placement students.
Murdoch University students and staff attending external locations (such as Work Integrated Learning providers) are required to comply with that location’s COVID-19 vaccination policy and/or applicable public health order.
If they are not able to, or choose not to comply, achievable and suitable alternative arrangements will be sought to fulfil the individual’s work/study placement or research requirements where feasible and reasonable. These will need to be approved by the relevant authority
Student accreditation and course progression requirements may be reliant on placement completion with certain providers that are subject to a specific public health order.
SafeWA QR codes
Please remember to continue to scan the sign-posted venue QR code upon entry to campus venues using the SafeWA mobile app. There are separate QR codes in place for different venues, so you will need to scan more than one throughout the day, if you visit different venues on campus.
Campus protocols
All students are reminded to follow the University’s COVID-19 Campus Protocols, which outline the necessary disease protection measures we all need to follow to stay safe.
Please stay safe and follow all health and safety advice from the Department of Health. Thank you for your continued support in keeping our campus and community safe during these challenging times.
