Some students have been targeted by commercial contract cheating companies posing as “assignment help” or “tutoring services.” including through social media, platforms such as Chegg-style services, and other unverified providers that claim to offer academic support. These services are not only in breach of academic integrity standards but have also been known to engage in blackmail, threatening to expose students unless additional payments are made. In some cases, these demands have amounted to thousands of dollars.
For your safety and academic integrity, we urge you to:
- Avoid all non-university services offering to complete or assist with your assignments for payment.
- Never share your Murdoch login details or passwords with anyone else. This includes individuals, tutoring services, contract cheating sites, or anyone claiming they need access to help you.
- Report immediately if you receive threats, blackmail attempts, or suspicious messages.
- Seek support from legitimate university services—your lecturers, unit coordinators, Learning Support, Peer Academic Coaches, Counselling Service, and Student Wellbeing team are here to help you succeed honestly and safely.
Remember, using contract cheating services is a serious breach of Murdoch University’s academic integrity requirements. Do not use contract cheating services. If you ever feel stressed, uncertain, or pressured, or unsure whether a support service is legitimate, we encourage you to reach out to us. We’re always here to support you and ensure you’re on the right path.
