To help promote Mental Health Week, we’re hosting an Art from the Heart exhibition to raise awareness about mental health, reduce the stigma surrounding mental health struggles, celebrate creativity and provide the Murdoch community with the opportunity to communicate their emotions though art.

How to join in:

All Murdoch students and staff are invited to join in by creating an art piece for the exhibit, expressing what mental health means to you.

All forms of art are accepted. We encourage you to explore your creativity, showcase your talents and create something that is meaningful to you.

Submission guidelines:

  • A limit of one artwork per person.
  • Artwork submissions open Tuesday 28 September.
  • Artwork must be submitted by Thursday 8 October 4:00pm at the Murdoch University Counselling Reception (Building 440.1.044) or sent by email to HealthPromotion@murdoch.edu.au.

Art from the Heart exhibit:

During Mental Health Week, Monday 12 October to Friday 16 October, the artworks will be displayed in an Art from the Heart exhibition the Geoffrey Bolton Library for the Murdoch community to admire and appreciate.

We encourage everybody to attend and use this opportunity to start conversations about mental health, self-care and help normalise seeking support for mental health.

You can access free information and support for mental health through our on-campus Murdoch University Counselling Service. The team provides workshops, online resources and one-to-one support.
